British Grand Prix

After many years of watching it on TV, I finally went to the British Grand Prix. I’d always thought about it as a kid, as I grew up watching Stock Cars (nothing like NASCAR, more like beach-buggies with a giant slanted-wing on top) and Banger racing with my dad. I was lucky enough to be working at an events company when the CART FedEx Championship Series came to Rockingham Motor Speedway in 2002, and managed to watch the whole race which was great, plus the ASCAR race where Colin McRay entered, but I’d always wondered what a Formula 1 race would be like.

I’ve got to say that it was amazing, especially with the performance of Lewis Hamilton in his rookie season; the amount of Vodafone Mercedes-McLaren merchandise on show was phenominal! It was very busy, but alongside see Adam Carroll (British GP2 series) drive to victory in the GP2 sprint race, it was a great weekend.

Now, back to that work I should be doing… or maybe I’ll look at the price of tickets for Spa-Francorchamps…
