As has been the case for some time, XenSource (vendors of Xen) are complaining that VMWare stunts the growth of virtualisation because of it’s cost. Not because of the monopoly maybe?
Anyone that’s tried to use Xen in a practical (read normal) environment knows that there are far too many issues at hand: limited number of compatible operating systems, no host-client communication and lack of management tools are the big three for me. When I heard about the concept originally I thought it was great, but when Joe Doupnik gave a demonstration I realised why VMWare are the market leaders!
